Senator Representing Zamfara Central, Zamfara State, Alhaji Kabiru Marafa said he secured employment for 55 graduates from the state at various Federal Government organisations.
Speaking on Saturday in Tsafe, when the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign organisation in Zamfara visited Tsafe Local Government Area, Marafa said all the 55 benefiting graduates were drawn from his constituency, which was made up of Gusau, Tsafe Maru and Bungudu Local Government Areas.
“As legislators our duty is not only to make laws but to ensure effective representation, human development and empowerment of the people of our constituencies,” Marafa said, adding that he had paid more attention to youth and women empowerment and development.
According to him, representation in lawmaking process required somebody that is competent, committed, educated and hard-working.
He, therefore, called on the people of the area not to allow selfish politicians to deceive them and vote wisely during the forthcoming elections.
Director-General of the state APC campaign organisation for the 2015 elections, Alhaji Ikira Bilbis, also urged the party members in the area to ensure that they obtain their voters card to enable them vote during elections.
“It is only when you have your voter card that you can vote for the candidates of your choice,” he said.
He also urged them to cooperate with INEC officials and security agents during the elections to ensure peace during the polls.
