Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed the English Premier League club are working on a transfer for a striker. The Etihad boss however refused to name a player.
‘I don’t talk about rumours. We are going to replace Alvaro Negredo because it was the decision that we’ve taken that we’re going to sell him.
‘We said we’d see in December if we need another striker. We need another striker so we are going to find which is the best player to play here.
‘We must be in FFP so I don’t think we are going to spend a lot. We sell already Alvaro Negredo so we have some money to spend.’

Chelsea assistant coach Steve Holland has diffused claims of a mega transfer move for Barcelona star Lionel Messi . The Argentine has been linked with a £500 million transfer move to the English Premier League side but Holland said:
‘Jose has made it quite clear his expectations are that nobody comes and nobody goes during the transfer window. We’re perfectly happy with what we have.
‘It’s not a decision I personally would make. When you look at the numbers being mentioned around Messi, I would think it’s an impossible deal for any club working within the financial fair play rules.’
