Convener of pressure group, Progressive Nationalists Forum (PNF), Richard Nyamah, has expressed his willingness to assist the committee set up to investigate the Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

The Chief Justice set up a five-member committee headed by Justice Anin Yeboah to investigate complaints of misconduct filed against the CHRAJ boss, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

Richard Nyamah, who is one of the complainants, told Citi News there are indications he may appear before the committee saying, “They’ve written to me, I am aware and I’m ready. They say at the appropriate time they will call on me and my counsel to appear before them to further give evidence.”

He said, “The CJ has finished hers [prima facie case], it’s now in the court of the committee, so when they call me I will make my appearance.”

Ms Lauretta Vivian Lamptey has been accused of wasting over $180, 000 of the taxpayer’s money on hotel bills; and another huge sum on renovating her official bungalow.

The issue raised a public uproar with some Ghanaians including the Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyir, Annor Dompreh, petitioning the president to have her removed.

Former CHRAJ Boss, Emile Short has also expressed worry about how the conduct of Ms Lamptey has affected the image of the commission.
