Zakia Kunge Too Late

Zakia Kunge, a bubbly model has released her debut single set to make waves in the Ghanaian music industry.

The finalist of the 2014 Vodafone Icons street edition has now added to her repertoire of achievements, a new commercial track set to receive massive airplay.

The track, titled “Too Late” was produced by another young talented sound engineer, Kwabena Nkrumah.

It is the first of many such singles that would be released.

The 2012 Miss Universe 2nd Runner Up combined passion with a rich powerful voice to make “Too late” a must listen song.

Zakia told Myjoyonline.com “Too Late” is a sad love story that begins with lots of promises but ends with severe heart breaks.

“I chose to sing this song calmly and airy without screaming because I wanted to signify the calm in the storm when all hell breaks loose,” she said.

The song is a magnificent mid-tempo electronic head-bobber with enough appeal to get its first radio play while still attracting fans of more mainstream pop and R&B music.

Born in Accra but a native of Sawla in the Northern Region, Zakia has drawn a fine balance between her academic prowess and a burgeoning career in Arts and Entertainment.

She has an Msc in Political Science from a Russian University and began a steady rise to fame by winning the Miss People’s Friendship, a prestigious pageant in the Russian University in 2008, the second black girl in the school’s history to win that accolade.

While in Ghana she contested in some of the country’s finest pageants and also hosted Season 4 of the Tym Out programme on Viasat1.

Fluent in English, Russian and a host of other local Ghanaian languages, Zakia said “music is the longest and most fulfilling relationship I have ever had in my life.”
