Debutant striker Kwesi Appiah is happy to have made the final cut in Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Appiah posted on his official Twitter account: “Delighted to have made the @ghanafaofficial 23 man squad for #AFCON Let the hard work continue!! #BlackStars #Focused ????????”
At age 27, the on-loan Cambridge United player is about to start his international career.
Appiah was a shock inclusion in Avram Grant’s provisional 31-man squad, but the forward justified his call-up with some decent performance in training.
He scored on his debut on Wednesday night as the Black Stars beat Portuguese second-tier side Olhanense.
