Obinim Yet To File No Case Submission

Bishop Daniel Obinim
Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of Godsway International Ministry and his two associate pastors, who allegedly vandalized the property of Hot Fm – an Accra-based radio station – are yet to file their submission of no case.

This was after the court had been informed that the accused persons were yet to get the record of proceedings to enable them do the filing.

Ralph Poku-Adusei, who held brief for Samuel Ata Akyea, counsel for the accused, informed the trial judge, Justice Abdulai Iddrisu that they had not gotten all the records of proceedings.

Justice Abdulai consequently gave counsel time to get the records of proceedings and file the submission.

Meanwhile, the state attorney handling the case, Mrs. Joyce Bueko Debrah, was not in court.

The investigator, Detective Inspector Bismark Adu-Gyamfi, finished his evidence last year in the trial of the three accused persons – Obinim, Kingsley Baah and Kofi Kwetey.

Samuel Ata Akyea had told the court that the defence team would file a submission of no case in the matter to have the case against the accused persons dropped because the evidence by the prosecution had so far failed to link them to the offence.

Mr. Ata Akyea had to start his cross-examination of the witness again after it was detected that the recording machines had failed to record the previous cross-examination.

The investigator had denied claims that the crowbar allegedly used by Obinim was his (investigator’s) invention.

The accused persons reportedly vandalized the radio station’s property, including transmitters and amplifiers, estimated to cost GH¢130,580.
