In his effort to encourage young people to go into cocoa farming, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on the second anniversary of his administration spent the afternoon of Wednesday, January 07, 2015 on a cocoa farm.

His first visit was to the farm of Mr. Samuel Torbi (2013 National Best Young Cocoa Farmer) in Assin Sienchem in the Central Region. The President engaged workers on the farm, and was taken through the various activities at the cocoa farm.

The President was then escorted by the Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni to the cocoa farm of Mr. Theophilus Tamakloe (President of Assinman Young Cocoa Farmers Association, AMCOFA).

There was a durbar of chiefs and the Sienchem community to climax the President’s visit which was to recognize the achievements of the young farmers and to also encourage the youth to take up cocoa farming as a lucrative business.
