Godfred’s AFCON Diary-Entry 4

Entry 4 December 7,2015
Time for Grant to bring tears and wails
December 7,2015 is a date three Black Stars players will not forget in a long time .Per CAF’s deadline to all participating AFCON team’s,final squads must be submitted today and I have a list of five for him to choose from.Abdul Majeed Waris for his unknown fitness levels,Kwabena Adusei for just not being good enough,Edwin Gyimah because he might just injure a team mate in training,Ibrahim Moro because he is the rookie in an experienced yet inconsistent midfield and Afriyie Acquah because he has been so poor. No hard feelings.

Asamoah Gyan’s music career on ice
Thank God for his little mercies. Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan told his own website he was taking a break away from his modestly successful music career until he is retired from football, citing the disappearance of his great friend and real talent Castro.I do not know about you but I was not looking forward to hearing the magnificent Baby Jet sing or rap on a solo project simply because his it is not his thing. I’ll rather enjoy the sweet music he makes when his boots hits a ball into the back of the auld onion bag.

Indomitable Lions getting royal treatment for AFCON

Ghana’s Black Stars managed to upstage their West African neighbours during the World Cup as the best trouble making team even though I still recall a little headbutt between two players of Cameroon during a game. Well it looks like this AFCON could be the best behaved one for them. Why? Well they are getting all the perks.$50000 appearance fees,$9000 for a win per group game and a private jet to fly them around.

Good times indeed. No wonder Alex Song retired immediately these arrangements were confirmed. After all he would not be there to enjoy it.
