End of the road: Bancey , Abdul Aziz part ways with Smouha

Seidu Bancey and Abdul Aziz Yusif have mutually cancelled their contracts with Smouha SC of Egypt for lack of much playing time.

Kotoko transferred Seidu Bancey and Abdul Aziz Yusif, their two leading attackers to the Egyptian side in July, 2014.

However, things turned out difficult for them following the sack of the coach who masterminded their move to Egypt, hence were relegated to the bench.

They have therefore mutually terminated their respective contracts with Smouha and Bancey has revealed his intention to return to the club he won two league titles with.

‘It was unfortunate that the coach who secured our services from Kotoko was sacked after playing four games and the new coach doesn’t like our style of play,’ he told Metro fm.

‘Due to this Abdul Aziz and I talked to the team to give us the chance to look for regular football action elsewhere because it was part of our contract to leave when we don’t get much playing time.

‘It is every player’s dream to play for Kotoko, so I would really love to return to the team.’

Bancey scored 12 league goals and the goal that won them the FA Cup title last season and eventually emerged the Kotoko’s  top scorer for the season.

He joined the Ghana champions from Ebusua Dwarfs in the 2012-13 and his good performance earned him a call-up into the local Black Stars team that emerged runner-up in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in 2014 and was subsequently selected as part of the team of the tournament

Abdul Aziz on the other hand joined Kotoko in the second half of the 2012/13 season and became an integral part of Mas-ud Didi Dramani’s team.
