Steven Gerrard is not ‘God’, Ghana star Frimpong fumes

Emmanuel FrimpongGhana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has criticized fans who have attempted to compare the illustrious career of Steven Gerrard to ‘God’ following his decision to end his 26-year association with Liverpool.  The 34-year-old joined Liverpool when he was eight and will leave when the current Barclays Premier League season ends after opting not to renew his contract at Anfield.Gerrard’s teammates, both current and former, led the chorus of praise, which also includes his coaches, opponents and some of Liverpool’s other all-time greats. But Ghana midfielder and former Arsenal starlet, Emmanuel Frimpong says attempts to compare him to God is unacceptable.“And stop Calling Stevie G A God he’s a Legend not even I can Deny that…But there is Only one God the man Above you clueless Glory hunters.” he tweeted.Gerrard hasn’t decided on his next move. He’ll end his career outside of England — perhaps in Major League Soccer. He could return to Liverpool in a non-playing capacity in the future.Whatever Gerrrard chooses to do, it’s safe to say he’ll retain the support of Liverpool players, coaches and fans around the world. After all, he is the longest-serving captain in Liverpool history
