Ex Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea hit-man, Eric Bekoe says, he signed for Moroccan top league side Kenitra Athlectic club to re-launch his football career.
The former Ghanaian premier league top-scorer signed a short term (6 months) deal with the Kenitra based club which is subject to renewal based on his performance.
Eric Bekoe has never played a competitive football due to his nagging injuries after terminating his contract with Berekum based club, Berekum Chelsea in the 2013/14 league season.
Bekoe in an exclusive interview with Allsports.com.gh said: ‘I decided to sign for Kenitra Athlectic club to re-launch my career; though financially the club is not sound but they have good facilities”.
He continued: ”Because of my past injuries many clubs say I’m not fit to play so I just need a video just to show to indicate that now I’m actively playing football and the teams will come by itself’.
According to him he lost out on a lot of offers because the clubs doubt whether he was physically fit to play active football or not.
‘I had many offers but they (clubs) were all doubting if I can still play active football or not but they were all not aware that I’m fully fit, I can play week in week out because currently I’m fully fit to play active and aggressive football,’ he added.
The 29 year old former Petro Jet attacker hinted that his option is not to play in Ghana.
‘For now playing in Ghana is not my option at all because Ghanaians retire players anyhow and my primary focus is to play outside Ghana and I hope to land a good deal after my short spell with Kenitra Athlectic Club.’
