Knii Lante Performs In Jamaica On Jan 16

Silky voice Reggae singer Knii Lante from Ghana will join the likes of international acts Etana, Tony Rebel, Junior Kelly, Jah 9, Third World and others at this year’s Salute Rebel in Jamaica on Friday, January 16, 2015.

The versatile singer and songwriter that he is, Knii Lante, who burst onto the scene over a decade ago, has promised to stage an extraordinary performance to satisfy patrons who will attend the show.

Knii, who has performed on various stages with some of the world’s most celebrated artistes, featured on Blakk Rasta’s song ‘Barrack Obama’. The late Michael Dwamena also featured him on his hit song, ‘NGOZI’, which won an award in 2007/2008 for Best Collaboration.

He was very much influenced by the music of Bob Marley, Osibisa, Michael Jackson, A.B. Crentsil and Luther Vandross.

In 2010 Knii Lante released his debut album, ‘LOVE & REVOLUTION’, produced by his long time friends Zapp Mallet, Robert Johnson and Joe Amoah, which had songs like ‘Road’ (a tribute to Dr Kwame Nkrumah), ‘When You Love Someone’ (feat Trigmatic) and ‘Lagos to Vienna’.

In 2012, he received the award for the ‘BEST VOCALIST’ at the Ghana Music Awards. He also released a single, ‘HOUSE OF PAIN’, recorded in Jamaica with producer Dean Fraser which won him another award.

Knii Lante plays Guitar and Piano and is a true Pan-Africanist. He is also a Physician Specialist. No wonder he’s affectionately called ‘Singing Doctor’.
