Young Daniel Amartey is enjoying a dream season that gets better each passing day. The defender started his season looking to make an impression Danish giants FC Copenhagen. He did better. He has become a stalwart scoring goals in the Champions and Europa league and now he stands on the verge of making Ghana’s AFCON squad.
“I came here to work hard and become part of the team and I pray that will happen. It is up to me to train hard and impress the coach so he adds me to the team” he remarked to Allsports.com.gh.
Amartey also confesses he is a little awed to be training with some of the biggest names in Ghanaian football.
“It is very nice for me because I am training with players like Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew and all the other guys. They boost your confidence and they also help you to improve your game.”
Grouped with other good teams like Algeria,South Africa and Senegal,Amartey is unwilling to make any predictions about how well the Black Stars will perform, sticking with the official tag line of the football association.
“I cannot say we can win the AFCON but I promise we will do our best when we get there.”
