Allsports.com.gh  can exclusively confirm that, Alhaji Akanbi has officially resigned as a board member of Accra Hearts of Oak.

The former National Chapters Committee (NCC) chairman of Hearts of Oak tendered in his resignation letter to the club’s board chairman, Togbe Afede last week Monday, 29th December, 2014.

However, Alhaji Akanbi’s reasons for his resignation is not yet clear, but  Allsports.com.gh  reported last week that the 46 year old football administrator status on Hearts of Oak’s Board has been questioned by some section of the club’s fans as they believe that the outgoing Board member was on the club’s Board as the supporters representation, but currently he is no more the supporters leader after losing the NCC chairmanship election last year June to his fellow Fabian in the person of Barimah Attuahene.

But  Allsports.com.gh  investigations reveal that Alhaji Akanbi resigned from his position due to the ‘sore agitation’ against him by Hearts of Oak fans.

Further checks also established that the Board of the club will be confirming the new NCC chairman, Barimah Attuahene as the supporters’ representation on the board soon.
