Deputy Ranking Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus Glover, has called on the Ministry of Petroleum and the National Petroleum Authority to look into the circumstances that led to the importation of bulk oil tanks and trucks into the country.

According to him, these bulk oil tanks and trucks are manufactured by Bulk Welders Association of Ghana, and allowing Chinese nationals to import them into the country does not only deprive the country some revenue for national development, but also create unemployment.

Speaking in an interview with Adom news during a meeting with the Association at Tema, the Tema East MP said the unfortunate situation about the issue is that, when such tanks are imported into the country, the burden lies on Ghanaians to work harder before it can hit the road.

Meanwhile, the Executive Member of the Bulk Welders Association of Ghana, Nana Akwasi Agyeman Nyantakyi has attributed the cause of fuel problems to most importation of bulk tankers in the country.
