The final Mirror Ball of the year crossed the finish line with the finesse of an Olympic gold medalist, distinguishing Ghana’s most consistent monthly party in a class of its own. Like a Johnnie Walker Blue label bottle sitting high on the shelf above its competitors the turn out on Saturday lived up to general expectation as “The party of the year”. The Freestyle theme had the highest concentration of Ghana’s most elegant women in the house and any gentleman who graced the occasion can confirm.

The second Mirror Ball of December and the final of the year was probably the most attended party in the land this weekend as patrons who arrived after midnight realised. All kinds of mean machines were parked on the sidewalks of the Liberation road just to ensure a chance to join the premium experience. There was hardly space on the dance floor to do the electric slide so improvised versions accompanied Kool and the Gang’s “celebration” as DJ Blow kept the party moving till the early dawn. There was a fine showing from Ghana’s most popular faces which included actors and actresses, politicians as well as top sports and media personalities. On arrival guests were treated to fine cocktails from Johnnie Walker as well as souvenirs from Starr Fm while Aleiwa lollipops and the legendary black and white toffees accessorized many beautiful lips.

The event represented a befitting close for a fantastic year of premium old school parties that have rocked many a middle aged knee in 2014. The next event on January 30 themed “Polo Play” should pop off 2015 with a sporty confidence. Fresh and crispy polo shirts with collars turned up if you prefer will do it nicely in the New Year. With a pleasant surprise for Patrons of the Mirror Ball, 2015 will be another wonder on Ghana’s number one nostalgic platform.

The Tulip Mirror Ball is brought to you by Golden Tulip Hotel and Tag Team. It is sponsored by Johnnie Walker, and supported by Starr 103.5Fm.
