The maiden edition of the Ghana Sports Excellence Awards, a brainchild of the Hallmark Plus Multimedia, will be held at the British Council Hall in Accra come January 9, 2015.
The awards seek to reward hardworking sports personalities and stakeholders in the sports industry.
“We are using these awards to reward people in the industry who are doing well but hardly have something to prove,” the event organiser Yaa Addo stated at a press conference.
“The people who are vying for the various awards were nominated by the general public and our team shortlisted them.
“We have well versed people in the media industry and technical men who have been monitoring the work of the nominees and they will choose the winners,” Addo promised.
Goal Ghana and 90 Minutes reporter Edmund Okai Gyimah has been nominated for the best online and best print sports journalist categories respectively.
