Nana Oye Lithur, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sunday saluted all Gallant Mothers in the world for their sacrifice and selflessness as the world marks Mother\u2019s Day. <\/p>\n

She said \u201cMy heart goes out to all mothers of the abducted girls in Nigeria\u201d and we the mothers in Ghana \u201cshare in your pain and trauma of uncertainty but be of good courage and resilient hope, as we all hope and pray with you that your daughters will re-unite with you soon\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a statement from the Ministry copied to the GNA quoted as saying, \u201cMothers are the foundation of the family and by extension, the society. Lives are nurtured and developed by your efforts, determination, foresight and resilience\u201d<\/p>\n

The statements added that in the face of life\u2019s challenges, your faith as mothers, courage and inspire hope resulting in many changed lives that have grown to be heroes, heroines and icons serving as role models and inspiration for many\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Minister, the statement said \u201cI salutes you; Agents of Change, epitome of hard work and excellence. As you continue to provide hope and guidance for all who looks up to you, may your resolute courage, sacrifice and resilience in nurturing continue to spur us on to higher heights\u201d.<\/p>\n

To our mothers in the orphanages and remand homes caring for the inmates, we are grateful to you, the statement added.<\/p>\n

Nana Oye Lithur noted \u201chow can I forget our Queen mothers, whose counsel, guidance and commitment to our communities have ensured that values that promote development have been preserved. We thank you for your contribution\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI particularly salute single mothers and career mothers who have to sacrificially juggle many things to put a smile on the faces of their dependants. May your efforts be rewarded, and may the lives you build also impact others, leaving a lasting legacy for those to come\u201d, the statement continued.<\/p>\n

To Mothers facing any challenge, Nana Oye Lithur said \u201cas they endeavour to play their motherly roles of caring, nurturing, and providing for their families, particularly, mothers with children of special needs, the entire nation salutes your courage and faith in these special ones.<\/p>\n

May all Mothers, she said \u201cbe strengthened to stand firm knowing that your efforts will yield tremendous results, and may we all reap and enjoy the fruits of our efforts as mothers, you are highly appreciated\u201d, adding, \u201cI proudly congratulate all categories of Mothers in this Country\u201d.<\/p>\n
