The suspected phone thief\u00a0
A SUSPECTED PHONE thief was nearly lynched when his captors beat him mercilessly in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.<\/p>\n
The suspect, a male believed to be in his late 20s, was caught stealing someone’s mobile phone.<\/p>\n
A crowd at the scene vented their spleen on the hapless thief as they hit him with all manner of items, including stones.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Wednesday when Nana Akufo-Addo and other New Patriotic Party (NPP) gurus were touring the Garden City.<\/p>\n
The NPP leader together with his entourage was followed by a thick crowd of excited people wherever they visited on the day.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, the suspected thief wanted to take advantage of the situation to steal someone’s mobile phone, but luck eluded him as someone who was standing closer to him, spotted his action and blew the alarm.<\/p>\n
Within minutes the place was crowded by a mob that was determined to spill blood as they started thrashing the suspect, hitting him with stones and other objects.<\/p>\n
The suspected thief who suffered scary face injuries, with blood all over his face, was heard crying for help but his captors would not listen.<\/p>\n
It took the timely intervention of some Good Samaritans at the place for the suspected thief to be freed.<\/p>\n
The suspect whose identity was not known was later seen standing at a quiet place nursing his injuries.<\/p>\n
