A leading charity organisation assisting men suffering from prostate cancer through appropriate treatment, Men’s Health Foundation, is appealing for support to enhance its work.

The charity has outdoored a campaign dubbed, ‘Men United V Prostate Cancer’, calling on all men to come together and build a movement for men called Men United.

The founder of the foundation, who also doubles as the director of De Men’s Clinic & Prostate Research Lab in Dodowa-Akoto House, Alt Dr Raphael Nyarkotey Obu, a registered Naturopathic doctor who studied the first ever Master’s programme in Prostate Cancer organised by Sheffield Hallam University, UK,   in collaboration with the Prostate Cancer UK, said their survey showed that 95 per cent of Ghanaian men are unaware that they’re at a higher than average risk of developing the disease.

‘Just pick an event simply. Choose where you want to do your event under Location.

‘Select what type of event you want to do using the grid of options. Our event STAND BY YOUR MAN, DO IT FOR DADS and BE BOLD, BE A MAN & DON’T SLEEP ON DUTY! We will be campaigning for change for men with prostate cancer to get the best treatment and care. We provide men with the right treatment information both conventional and alternative, before deciding on what treatment option they have to choose. We need more treatment options in Ghana because we believe men must make their own informed decisions before deciding on treatment and screening for prostate cancer using the PSA test. Agenda for next year: We are ready to assist in policies for your company or church so contact as we plan for next year,’ the medical doctor stated in a release.

Dr Obu started his prostate cancer journey as a trained clinical sonographer at Radford University College. His constant calls on prostate cancer screening policy in Ghana was recognised by Sheffield Hallam alumni connect office and was contacted if willing to be profiled as one of their most successful students in prostate cancer. He is a columnist on the subject ‘Prostate Matters.’ All donations, enquiries, invitations and support should be channelled to us on: 0541090045/0244297974/0242367473 or e-mail [email protected] .
