Heavy machinery dealer, SMT Ghana, has trained drivers and technicians of Jorbies Limited, a construction company, on how to handle and maintain its latest tractor, Volvo FMX 440.
The training was part of the package that SMT Ghana gave the company for purchasing its latest truck.
This, according to SMT Ghana, would arm the drivers and technicians with essential knowledge about operating and maintaining the all-new Volvo FMX 440 truck
Explaining in an interview, the Training Manager of SMT Ghana, Mr. Jasper Agbakpe, said the training session was necessary in that the Truck is a new machine to have been introduced in Ghana, “So, for the drivers to handle it well, get the best from it and also know how to manage it, this training was organised.”
He said given that SMT Ghana dealt in result-oriented trucks, it normally take its customers through such training sessions before handing their purchased trucks to them.
“Before we deliver our customers with their trucks, we ensure that their drivers fully know and understand the trucks giving to them,” he said, indicating that such a measure helped to enhance the maintenance of the trucks and improve productivity.
For his part, the Managing Director, Denis Pylyser, added that SMT Ghana organised training sessions for its customers “because we are concerned about the satisfaction of our customers and how to handle the quality of products we give them.
“That’s what makes us happy and also give us more business and customers,” he said.
