Multimedia Group’s EDUCARE Fund awards scholarships to 30 students

The Multimedia Group through its EDUCARE Fund has awarded scholarships to some brilliant but needy students from various Junior High Schools (JHS) across the country to pursue Senior High School (SHS) education.

The over 30 beneficiaries will have their three-year SHS education fully paid for by EDUCARE. The scholarship will not only cater for their tuition fees but also provide pocket money and cover all other educational expenses they might incur while they are in school.

The scholarship will not only cater for their tuition fees but also provide pocket money and cover all other educational expenses they might incur while they are in school.

Since its inception over 6 years ago, the fund has sponsored over 100 students through their senior high school education and provided other forms of support to them while in school.

Speaking at a ceremony to award the scholarships, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the EDUCARE Fund, Rev Ama Afo Blay said the fund was set up to help contribute towards building the requisite human resources for the development of the nation.

She indicated that “the fund is ready to support students who want to learn and are ready to do so”.

Rev. Blay said even though the fund was entirely sponsored by the MGL, other partners are welcome to contribute to the development of the students.

She advised the beneficiaries to work hard at their studies in order to make MGL and their parents proud, and cautioned them to conduct themselves properly while in school.

Previous beneficiaries, Ridwan Karim Dini Osman and Harold Neequaye who are currently in their final year at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) and the University of Ghana respectively, expressed their sincerest gratitude to MGL for supporting them at a time when all hope was lost.

They prayed that the life-changing opportunity the fund has provided them with will be presented to other students who may find themselves in similar situations as they were some years back.

Some parents of the beneficiaries thanked MGL for the opportunity the EDUCARE Fund has provided for their children to pursue their studies and said they can heave a sigh of relief now because a huge burden has been lifted off their shoulders.
