The immediate past Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Fund, Kojo Adu-Asare has described as “erroneous” claims that he has been sacked.
He said he has only been recalled to the Flagstaff House as a presidential staffer in-charge of Youth Enterprise Development (YED), a subsidiary of the YES Fund.
Adu-Asare, who was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, explained that the previous position he held as CEO of the YES fund, was only a task given him by President Mahama to help with the setting up of the fund.
The Fund is aimed at providing support for young entrepreneurs in the country.
He also said it was inaccurate, reports suggesting that he has been sacked barely two months into his appointment as head of the YES Secretariat.
“My work begun on 6 th January, 2014 and not 12 th August as it is been reported. The media should have contacted me before breaking the news,” he said.
The Former Member of Parliament for Adentan said ”it has been a privilege to serve at YES for the past nine months and I’m happy it has achieved this feat under my leadership.”
Adu-Asare refuted assertions that his removal was due to his appearance before the Justice Dzamefe Commission.
“No one has indicted me for any wrong doing so I don’t know why people are still making reference to that. I’m a strong person inside and looking at the brighter side of life,” he pointed out. Story by Ghana/Adomonline.com/Adwoa Gyasiwaa
