Church Of Pentecost Holds Fun Games For Children

The Church of Pentecost, Accra region, has brought together children of all the 15 branches of the church to participate in games to mark the children’s week of the church at the El-Wak Sports Stadium last Saturday in Accra.

The children participated in games such as basketball, football, volleyball, athletics, choreography, face painting, horse racing among others.

The activities gave the children the opportunity to socialize, make new friends and learn new ways of doing things.

Some doctors from the Korle Bu Teaching were invited to educate the children on personal hygiene and on the deadly disease Ebola.

Pastor Fred Tiakor, Director, Children’s Ministry at the Church of Pentecost said children are well imparted through playing hence the need to organize games to bring out the best in them and create opportunities for them to express themselves.

“In our society, most Ghanaian children have been looked down upon, cursed, beaten up and it has affected their mental and physical upbringing and development in general,” he said.

The pastor noted that children were a gift from God and they deserved all the support and motivation to help them become good citizens to their communities and the nation as well as to the glory of God.

He, therefore, advised parents to train their children according to God’s ways and also pay special attention to their development to transform them into great and responsible citizens.
