Rabito Clinic Organises Free Skin Screening

A free skin screening exercise has been held in Accra for the general public as part of activities marking the 40th Anniversary celebration of Rabito clinic. Rabito clinic has been a renowned dermatology referral centre in Ghana since 1974 and currently has over 15 active branches with presence in all the regions in Ghana.

The founder and director of Rabito clinic Limited Prof.Edmund Delle,in a discussion with journalist at the screening said their corporate social responsibility is focused on educating the public about the various dermatology diseases of the skin, hair and nails.

He said by intensifying education on dermatology, persons afflicted with skin diseases would access medical attention instead of self-medication.

He said the skin is the largest organ of the human body and its importance in human protecting human life should never be underestimated.

Prof Delle said medical personnel from Rabito would screen the public for all skin conditions including viral, fungal and bacterial infections as well as arthropod infestations and inflammatory conditions.

The vision of the clinic according to him is to be the leading private healthcare provider inside and outside the country through the provision of high quality healthcare services, which meet the total health needs of its clients in West African sub-region at affordable but competitive prices.

The administrative Manager of Rabito Clinic Ltd, Mr Kwabena Twum-Barimah, advised the public to see a dermatologist regularly and most especially when they see changes on their skin.

He cautioned against the use of skin bleaching creams,adding,that there are a lot of dangers associated with these bleaching creams, you might think you are making yourself beautiful but as a matter of fact, you are killing yourself slowly.’’

Mr Barimah urged the public to take their bath regularly since bathing is one of the effective means of preventing skin diseases.
