The biggest peace concert dubbed ‘A One World Tribe : Peace Love & Unity Concert : Bole’ aimed at promoting peace, unity, understanding and development among the people of Bole and its environs especially the youth took place at Bole, hometown of President John Dramani Mahama at the weekend.
The peace concert had Redfyah, a Reggae Musician who is himself from Bole as the main Artist with other Artists such as David Pick from Australia, Realitee, Sean Tailor, Konkarah, Gandaranks, BMB, Sabasa, King Lagazy, Nana Dubwise taking part with an excellent presentation from DJ Lagazee of capital TV.
The concert sponsored by Australia based ‘A One World Tribe’ and supported by the ‘Gonjaland Youth Association’ saw the biggest gathering of the youth of Bole with about 3000 people present on the first day and about 2500 on the second day. The event which was to be staged for a day was disrupted by rain on the first day at a time the crowd was anxiously yelling for Redfyah, and was therefore repeated the next day as a result of public outcry and pleads for a repetition.
Before the first day’s concert, the Artist and organisers of the event called on the Bolewura Mahama Awuladese Pontoprong (II), Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area at his Palace where the PRO of the Gonjaland Youth Association Mahama Haruna and Redfyah presented the mission of the group after which the Bolewura thanked the organisers for bringing the concert to Bole and assured everyone he is for peace and unity.
The Artists and Organiser also accompanied ‘A One World Tribe’s’ David Pick to the Bole District Hospital where soaps, Pampers and toys were donated to 10 new born babies at the Maternity Ward and 45 Children on admission at the Children’s Ward. The Hospital Administrator thanked David Pick and ‘A One World Tribe’s’ for their kind gesture.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) or Mayor of Bole Mr James Jaaga called on the Orgnanisers and Artist on the second day with David Pick of ‘A One World Tribe’ and Redfyah explaining the mission and aim of the Peace Concert. The DCE was full of praise for the organisers saying; “The future of Bole will succeed if there is peace. Your presence and education is welcomed because if there is no peace there is no development”.
He said the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama is from Bole and so Bole should be the last place a conflict should start. According him the peace and unity ‘A One World Tribe’ has come to preach in Bole through music will be officially communicated to the President.
