DAILY GUIDE on Tuesday gathered that the brother of Cassiel Ato Forson, Deputy Finance Minister, who doubles as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako Enyan Essiam (AEE) Constituency, is standing trial at a District Court at Ajumako for his alleged involvement in several fraud cases in the area.
According to reports, Emmanuel Atta Forson, who is the official driver of the deputy minister, is standing a trial with one Richard Ansah aka Jeff, who was also instrumental in the 2012 campaign of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Appiah told the court that the two succeeded in collecting an amount of GH¢29,800.00 from eight individuals under the pretext of offering them auction cars, as well as enlisting them into the security services.
Richard Ansah pleaded guilty to the offence and said Forson sent him to the field for the operation.
Forson pleaded not guilty to the charges and denied ever going anywhere with his accomplice.
According to reports, they were granted bail in the sum of GH¢65,000.00 with one surety each to reappear on September 25 th , 2014.
They allegedly received GH¢4,500.00 from Oboako Kingsfor, GH¢4,000.00 from Paa Kwesi, Helena Abban, GH¢6,500.00 and Mary Taylor, GH¢3,500.00.
Sophia Essandoh and a 75-year-old woman, Auntie Ackonua, allegedly gave them GH¢2,500.00 and GH¢2,500.00 respectively.
