Fun Galore At Surfline Sponsored Business Olympics

It was fun over the weekend when the corporate community met to try something away from the usual business at the 2014 Surfline-sponsored Business Olympics at the Burma Camp leisure center.

The 9th edition, this year’s which was sponsored by Ghana’s first 4G LTE company attracted over 45 corporate entities from different industries which competed for trophies in disciplines such as Swimming, a 5 aside Football tournament, Basketball, Volley, Scrabble, Lawn and Table tennis.

Citi Investment company eventually emerged overall winners after taking home four trophies including those of football, swimming and lime & spoon.

While most companies fell short of living to expectation and translating their “bragging” which preceded the game into reality on the field, some clearly put their dexterity outside of the office on display.

New entrants like the Ghana Post was one such company that put up a nice showing, winning the women 50 meter dash and men’s tug of war. Others like Ernst and Young, Bank of Africa, and FHI360, among others, were also not intimidated by the regulars, and won some coveted trophies at the event. While Ernst and Young (EY) won the scrabble competition for men, FHI360 won the men’s swimming competition with Bank of Africa winning the men’s basketball competition.

Characteristically, regular participants,Ashfoam, maintained a dominant presence, picking home trophies for the women’s arm wrestling competition as well as table tennis for men.
