The Director of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Abdulai Zakari has been found dead in his room.
The 57-year-old was found motionless on his bed in his official residence in Koforidua Thursday, September 18, 2014.
Public Relations Officer, Prosper Fetor told Myjoyonline.com “We went to work waiting for him but he was not coming” prompting calls to his residence about his whereabouts.
Mr. Fetor said the police were called in to convey the body to the Government Hospital in Koforidua where doctors declared him dead.
He said Mr. Zakari’s death came as a shock to staff of the RCC because, he looked visibly healthy at the work on Wednesday.
The deceased lived with two care takers in his residence, the PRO said. He added that efforts are being made to reach his immediate family whom he said reside in the Ashanti Region.
The police have initiated investigations into what may have caused the death of the man.
