Kevin Prince Boateng Consistently Insulted Me – Kwesi Appiah

Dismissed coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has revealed that the under-suspension member of the team, Kevin-Prince Boateng, consistently abused him verbally in Brazil.

Appiah, who was relieved of his job by the Ghana Football Association Friday, told Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana programme Tuesday that the player disrespected both the technical team and the playing body during the team’s World Cup campaign in the Southern American country.

“I wouldn’t like to explain everything but when you are showing signs of disrespect to your coach and even to your players, sometimes along the line something must be done.

“I thought he is a good player, and I always look at the national interest first so I said let me give him the benefit of the doubt but if you get there and your behaviour will have effect on the younger ones, there is no way I will allow that to happen,” the ex-Ghana international said.

“Once someone does something, and you keep telling them and they keep doing the same thing to the extent of sometimes using the ‘F’ word not to me alone, but to my assistant and to everyone, it’s difficult to say everything is okay,” Appiah stated.
