Lawyers Trade Words Over Castro-Janet Saga…”Charlatan”, “Witch”; “Bonker Of Female Students” Bandied About

Popular Hip-life artiste Theophilus Tagoe also known as “Castro” and his companion Janet Bandu are still missing for closed to three months but the brouhaha surrounding their sudden lost still continues in the media and families of the yet-to-declared “dead” missing friends.

One legal practitioner who seems to have a keen interest in the Castro-Janet saga and has consistently called for the arrest of everyone present during the unfortunate incident, including Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, is Lawyer Maurice Ampaw.

But it appears he has now taken his interest in the missing saga too personal following a verbal altercation involving him and another legal practitioner.

The ace legal practitioner, recently roared at his learned fellow, Lawyer Poku Adusei to “shut-the-hell-up”.

Maurice, since Castro’s disappearance, has made it public that, he believes the “African Girls” hit maker and his alleged sweetheart are not dead as claimed but couldn’t specifically identify where the duo currently are.

Castro-Janet Disappearance

Castro and Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan were at the Aqua Safari, a beach resort in Ada, together with some friends in July, 2014, for recreation when the musician (Castro) went missing whiles jet skiing with Janet Bandu.

Reports were that Castro might have drowned while trying to save Janet who was alleged to have fallen off the bike.
Months after, the unexpected disappearance mystery resurrected after the family of Janet Bandu accused Asamoah Gyan of murdering their daughter and Castro for rituals.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw’s twist

Dr. Maurice Ampaw in an interview of OKAY FM’s morning show Ade Akye Abia indicated that come the end of this month (September), he will reveal the whole fact and mysteries surrounding the where-about of Castro.

He firmly stated that, Asamoah Gyan [also Castro’s close pal] knows the where-about of the musician so therefore he [Gyan] must invited for questioning by the police since he’s own private investigation reveals that, a necklace Castro worn on the unfortunate day was later found in a dustbin.

Lawyer Poku Adusei’s clarification

Dr. Poku Adusei also Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Ghana is of a view that, the call by Lawyer Ampaw on the police to arrest Asamoah Gyan is wrong and unsubstantiated.

According to him, Ampaw who claimed to hold a Ph.D. [Doctor of Philosophy] in law is behaving like a “layman” with his choice and suggestions since the news of the disappearance of Castro and Janet went viral.

Speaking on the issue on OKAY FM, Lawyer Poku Adusei counseled that, the police must be given every opportunity to investigate the issue with absolutely no interventions and interference from persons such as Maurice Ampaw.

“Dr. Maurice Ampaw is misleading the public on the Castro-Janet saga. He should be ignored…he should just shut up for the officers [Police] to do their work”

He however opines that, Dr. Maurice is hiding behind his “charlatanic advert PhD” honour to deceive Ghanaians after he had warned him to be mindful of his words as a lawyer.

Maurice Ampaw’s rebuttal

The legal practitioner in a sharp retort expressed worry over how his colleague has chosen to become ignorant of the law and described his [Poku Adusei’s] assertions as “nonsense”.

He explained that, in as much as Lawyer Adusei also holds a PhD in law, “he uses his doctorate degree to say rubbish things and bonk female students. He [Lawyer Adusei] is a witch.”

“He [Dr. Poku Adusei] just wants to use me to become popular. No one knows him anyway. I even doubt his qualification as a practicing lawyer. Who is he? I don’t know that man and he is not my friend,” he furiously said

Meanwhile, Mr. Ampaw has been invited by the police to help with investigations because of his claims in the media that he knows of the location of Castro and Janet.

He confirmed to OKAY FM’s morning show host Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that he has been contacted by DSP Cephas Arthur and Director in-charge of the Homicide Unit to help the police in their investigations.

Maurice Ampaw says he is ever ready to honour any invitation from the Ghana Police Service to help in the search of the missing award winning Hip-life artiste and his female acquaintance.
