Ghana Chamber Of Commerce And Industry Appoints Interim Regional Executives For Sekondi-Takoradi


Seven business men and women have been appointed as interim Executives of the Sekondi-Takoradi branch of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI).

They are Mr. Issa Ouedraogo-B Bovid, Chairman, Rev. Mrs. Georgina Filson Nyame, Vice Chairperson and Michael Kuta-Dankwa, Treasurer. The others are Mr. Stephen “Abbas” Miezan, Hajia Alimatu Abdulai, Mrs Charlotte Benjamin Afful and Nana Kwaku Duah II __ all council members. The executives and the council members were drawn from diverse business backgrounds.

The new regional executives, being led by the incumbent Western Regional Best Farmer would manage the affairs of the chamber in the region for a period of one year after which an election will be conducted to elect substantive executives in accordance with the Chamber’s constitution.

At an induction ceremony organized in Takoradi on Friday 5th September, 2014 to officially present the new team, the President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Seth Adjei Baah explained that the decision follows the expulsion of the former executives: Ato Van Ess, Cadmon Dadzie and Matthew Ade from the Chamber for gross misconduct.

Dr. Seth Adjei Baah, advised the interim regional executives to work hard to reposition the Chamber in the oil region. He charged them to be transparent, accountable and above all serve humanity with humility.

On behalf of the newly inducted regional executives, the regional Chairman, Mr. Issa Ouedraogo, thanked the Chamber for reposing its confidence in the seven member team.

He called for unity, commitment and dedication to the values and principles of the Chamber.

He believes a united chamber in the region would create the required platform for businesses to thrive. He urged members to constantly allow calm to prevail in the conduct of activities of the chamber.
