Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, met with Honorable Hanna Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Paris (France) on Thursday, September 11. Both ministers met in similar circumstances last year.
The meeting is part of the strengthening of Franco-Ghanaian relations. The first bilateral political dialogue was held in Paris in October 2013. The second session is scheduled next month in Accra.
The two ministers discussed key bilateral issues, including economic relationship, and reviewed on the Ebola outbreak, the situation in the Sahel and the fight against Boko Haram. Much emphasis was put on sub-regional issues as Ghana holds the presidency of the Economic Community of the States of West Africa (ECOWAS) since March 2014.
Honorable Minister Hanna Tetteh also met Mrs Elisabeth Guigou, chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs committee of the French National Assembly. A meeting was held with MEDEF International, which represents the French private sector at international level, whereby over 15 French companies had the opportunity to interact with the Minister and show their interest in Ghana.
