‘Unforgiven’, a Roverman anniversary that was!

In September 2008, a man stood in front of a packed audience at the National Theatre and promised Ghana a new play every quarter.

On September 6, 2014, Roverman Productions celebrated six years of producing exciting plays every quarter! Uncle Ebo Whyte and his Roverman crew stayed true to their word and six years down the line, the plays keep getting exciting.

‘Unforgiven’, the play for the sixth anniversary gave patrons a lot of excitement as it gave them an artistic impression of what happens inside Roverman Productions.

It tells the story of the ripple effects of a woman’s dream to be part of the leading theatre group in Ghana. It took the patrons on a journey from auditions to production day.

Besides the funny, witty, lesson-filled lines of the play, there were happenings at the National Theatre that made the experience an unforgettable one.

The whole show started with the launch of the Airtel ‘Make Your Change’ campaign which took off on a grand style.

There was an audacity convoy through some selected streets in Accra to the National Theatre. The main sponsor of Roverman Productions, Airtel, then held a fun filled town hall meeting, full of color and glitz! The premiering of the show was the icing on the cake and from that night, it was evident that we were in for an eventful quarter, and an eventful quarter it was!

For the first time, a member of Roverman Productions proposed to his girlfriend on stage much to everyone’s surprise, including her mother who was celebrating her birthday on that day! It was a touching moment as both of them tearfully professed their love to each other and agreed to get married.

Then came the cutting of the anniversary cake from Airtel to congratulate Roverman for chalking six years of good quality plays.
