We Will Keep A Keen Eye On Kenu’s Case—GJA Assures

The Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has pledged to ensure that the law takes its full course on perpetrators of last Friday’s assault on the Daily Graphic Ashanti regional Editor, Daniel Kenu

A thirty thousand cedis bail has been granted, Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo for carrying out the assault.

The two, Baffour Gyan, former Black stars player and brother of Asamoah Gyan black stars captain and Samuel Anim Addo, a sports broadcaster journalist with Accra Based Peace FM are being charged for assaulting the journalist.

They are alleged to have attacked Daniel Kenu last Friday in retaliation to a question Kenu posed to asamoah gyan regarding rumors; he (Asamoah Gyan) had sacrificed his missing friend and hip life artiste Castro for ritual purposes.

As part of the GJA’s visit to the Ashanti region on Monday, the GJA president, Mr. Rolland Affail Money appealed to the Ashanti regional police command to ensure that the case sees its logical conclusion.

He indicated, “We will follow the case with keen interest because we live in a country where such high profile cases have been killed with the alacrity with which they were pursued.”

Ashanti regional police commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye on his part expressed confidence in the courts to deliver justice.

He however warned the public to respect the rule of law when settling personal scores.
