National Investment Bank rescues Wa campus UDS lecturers

Lecturers at the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) now can breath a sigh of relief.

The torrid times they have to go through looking for accommodation will now be a thing of the past.

The National Investment Bank(NIB) has come to their rescue by funding the construction of a three storey for them at a cost of Ghs 2,031,553.89.

The Wa campus of the University for Development Studies started (UDS) in 2002 on rented and borrowed premises.

The students and the lecturers were without quarters and hostel facilities.

They have to close their eyes to the inconveniences of renting houses

Unscrupulous landlords and ladies in the Wa Township and within the Waala community, give out their houses to them at cutthroat prices.

The National Investment Bank (NIB) saw the frustrations and challenges the lecturers are going through and came to their aid.

They went in to partnership with the university and the result was the three storey building. The build was put up by A&R Hatoum construction limited.

The Wa branch manager of the National Investment Bank, William Ohene-Adu in a short address before he handed over the keys to the university stated that the management of the bank saw the funding of the project as a useful venture.

The Dean in charge of the Wa campus of the UDS, professor Zunuo Lankuu Bacho on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of the university thanked the National Investment Bank for coming to their aid.

He appealed to other organisations to take a cue from them and come to the aid of the university.
