Beauty Pageant To Mark Asogli Festival

The annual yam festival of the chiefs and people of Asogli, Ho, in the Volta Region will be climaxed on September 13, 2014 with a beauty pageant show dubbed ‘Face of Asogli’ at the auditorium of the Ho Polytechnic.

Prince Darkey, a member of the organisers of McDon Multimedia, in a release said the pageant is a reality show held annually to celebrate womanhood.

Mr Darkey mentioned that the 2014 edition of the pageant has a number of activities planned to empower women as well as encourage girl-child education in the area.

He added that two auditions were held in Accra and Ho after which the 10 female contestants for the 2014 reality show were identified.

The representative added that the winner of the pageant would ride home a sleek saloon car and work with the McDon Multimedia Company during the tenure of office as the reigning champion.

The release further assigned that the winner would also be crowned as an ambassador for the promotion of education in the Volta Region.

The contestants are also going to be given that touch of look from Ms Rubby Mac-Kafui, a Mary-Kay trained independent beauty consultant in Accra.

Prominent in the assigned duties of the winner would be school visits and sharing of critical ideas which would lead to making schooling attractive to the people of the area.

The colourful event is expected to be witnessed by a number of dignitaries including the chief of the Ho Traditional Area, Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State.
