Thierry Henry Welcomes Samuel Inkoom To MLS

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker, Thierry Henry has applauded Samuel Inkoom’s decision to join Major League Soccer giants, DC United, after the pair met last week.

37-year-old Thierry Henry, who scored an absolute screamer for New York Red Bulls in their 2-1 win over Kansas City in their Major League Soccer fixture, told the former FC Dnipro ace: “You will not regret playing in the MLS. You made the right choice and I am happy for you to play in the MLS.”

It will be recalled that, On Friday, D.C. United announced that they had signed the Ghanaian international defender, who was in the Black Stars 23-man squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, having also played at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

A 2009 U-20 World Cup winner, Inkoom has arrived at to D.C. United from F.C. Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, which is a team based in the central-eastern part of Ukraine.

He previously featured for Swiss side, FC Basel where he joined from Ghana giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The right wing back also spent the second half of the 2013/14 season on loan at Greek side, Platanias.
