2014 GRAND BALL ATTRACTS 73 CORPORATE BODIES TO PARTY


Dubbed the Greatest Benefit Dinner & Concert for Corporate Ghana and Society’s most influential, the highly anticipated second edition of Musiga Grand Ball, was held on Friday 5th September 2014, at the Banquet Hall, State House. It attracted over 73 Companies and groups.

Among the companies who were present include Jislah Financial Services, Phoenix Insurance, Ideal Finance, IPAS, Asona Mining, Charterhouse, Kasapreko, Eurostar Limousines, AMA, Freezones Board, Aqua Safari, Erata Motors, Alisa Hotel, Sasso and Finatrade.

Others include the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, Ministry of Local Government, Liberty Capital Group, Liberty Mutual Health, TV3 Network, Despite Group, Mobile Content Ltd, Allied Oil, Royal bank, KPMG, GRA, Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Forestry Commission, UT Bank, UHI, Stanbic Bank among others.

The event kicked off with speeches by Musiga President and Mr. Samuel Afari-Dartey, Grand Ball Executive Board Chairman. After dinner was served, there were performances by Gospel set Noble Nketsiah, Tagoe Sisters and No Tribe.

Comedians KSM and DKB entertain guests. Other performances include A.B. Crentsil, Smart Nkansah, Kwabena Kwabena, Osei Vasco, Nana Ampadu, K.K. Yeboah, Kofi Sammy, Papa Yankson, Paulina Oduro and Amakye Dede

H.E. President John Dramani Mahama who was scheduled to be the special Guest of Honour had to pull out at the eleventh hour due to “an emergency, he had to take care of personally”. On his behalf, his speech was delivered by the Minister for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare.

Music Industry Pillar Awards were presented to Dr. (Mrs) Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite and Midland Savings and Loans Ltd for their contributions to the development of the music industry.

A special auction by Abeiku Santana & Kwame Sefa Kayi saw Eddie Ankomah CEO of Erata Hotel buying a musical collection of Amakye Dede for Ghc5,000; Charterhouse bought Daddy Lumba Collection for GHC5,000; Oscar Yao Doe bought Koo Nimo’s Guitar at Ghc15,000; Ernest Ofori Sarpong bought Nana Ampadu’s collection for Ghc5,000; Godfred Kumodzi, purchased Daddy Lumba Collections for Ghc5,000; and Derrick Danso Afriyie bought Kojo Antwi Collection at Ghc5,000. Sales from this auction goes to support the AMWEF Fund.

Presented by Johnnie Walker, Huawei, Midland Savings and Loans and Tigo; the 2014 Musiga Grand Ball sought to raise funds for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWEF). Grand Ball 2014 was produced by Showbiz Africa for Musiga and hosted by Joselyn Dumas and Kwami Sefa Kayi.
