MUSIGA Grandball 2014 Comes Off Today

There have been few ocassions where both old and new artistes come together to perform on one stage and today September 5, patrons will be treated to such a blend when the Banquent Hall, State House, hosts this year’s MUSIGA Grand Ball.

The old skull posse will feature highlife stalwarts, Amakye Dede, AB Crentsil and Paapa Yankson, and gospel duo, Tagoe Sisters, who are expected to dish out their good old tunes that have earned them enviable places in the hearts of many music lovers.

And from the new bloc, Kwabena Kwabena, Samini, Efya, Nacy and Noble Nketiah will prove their worth as the ones in charge of the game now and they can only secure that “right’ with their delivery on the night.

There will also be stand-up comedy from KSM and DKB as well as an auction of vintage items belonging to celebrated musicians.

The event organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), is a major fund-raising event for the union.

According to Bice Osei Kufuor aka Obuor, President of MUSIGA, this year, the attention is on raising money to support the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and the MUSIGA Academy.

“ The event is expected to be a spectacular night of authentic Ghanaian music, comedy and networking accompanied with dinner.
“We will also have a raffle draw and honour some individuals who have offered outstanding support for the music business in Ghana over the years,” the MUSIGA president said.

He added that President John Mahama and former President John Kufuor will be special guests at the function. MUSIGA Grand Ball 2014 is sponsored by Huawei, Tigo, Johnnie Walker and Midland Savings and Loans.
