N’Delta Women Laud Jonathan’s Approach In Chibok Girls Rescue Efforts

Women from the Niger Delta, have warned that those advocating the declaration of full-blown war by President Goodluck Jonathan in the search for abducted school girls from Chibok, Borno State are mischief makers, who want a massacre that will tarnish the image of the president ahead of the 2015 presidential election.

The women, under the aegis of Goodluck For Transformation, led by its National President, Mrs Evelyn Omokhodion, urged President Jonathan to disregard what they described as blackmail against his administration and declare his intention for the 2015 presidential election.

Omokhodion, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State, noted that the country has been united despite the insurgency was an indication that Jonathan was well qualified to lead the nation for another term.

Addressing women during a pro-Jonathan rally in Benin City, she said Nigerians should commend the president for applying wisdom in the search for the Chibok girls, adding that the use of full force would have resulted in the killing of the girls.

“We all know that the abduction is of serious concern not only to the President but to all Nigerians and the international community. The government is trying not to resort to full war to secure the release of the girls to avoid casualty. I appeal to Nigerians to join in the fight against terrorism which is a major challenge to some countries today,” she added. [Vanguard]
