Offinsomanhene Charges Chiefs To Be Circumspect In Land Sale

Offinsomanhene, Nana WiafeAkenten III, has charge his sub-chiefs to be circumspect in the sale of land. He has admonished chiefs to give out lands for projects that will lead to the development of their respective communities.

The Omanhene is worried about indiscriminate land sales to developers who do not use land judiciously.

Nana WiafeAkenten spoke at the launch of the ‘Mmoaninko’ festival.

Indigenes of Offinso have contributed over Gh80, 000 for the celebration after six years break.

The festival has since 2009 not been celebrated because of factors including financial capabilities.

According to Offinsohene, its significance is for Offinso descents to appreciate land and effectively utilize it.

The money is therefore expected to be used to support education and facilitate other developmental projects in the community.

Businessmen, the traditional council, churches and other social organizations took part in raising the money during the launch of the ‘Mmoaninko’ festival.

The exercise was in preparedness for the festival proper scheduled for November.
