2014 Joy FM ‘Back to school’ kicks off Friday


Parents and guardians who are confronted with the headache of finding a place of convenience to shop for educational materials for their wards when school re-opens, can now knock off their headache as the 2014 edition of the Joy FM “Back to school” Fair is set take off this Friday.

The Back to School Fair which will run until Sunday, September 7, which is jointly organized by Joy FM and the Ghana Book Publishers Association (GBPA) will take place at the Trade Fair Centre, Accra.

It will provide a platform for publishers and dealers in schooling materials to showcase their items to the public.

During the fair, an array of educational materials ranging from text books for minors to educational materials for students in higher learning institutions and stationery materials, would be showcased.

Also to be showcased are items like chop boxes, mattresses, provisions, personal hygiene products, fabrics and cosmetics.

     Speaking on the Joy FM “Super Morning Show” Monday, Executive Secretary of GBPA ,Mrs. Anne Yayra Sakyi said: “This is a platform for people to get what they need” adding that “people don’t need to go to shops looking for a particular book and that when they come there [fair], they would get what they need.”

An exhibitor and CEO of Flexxzy Impex, Felix Owusu Antwi, disclosed that his outfit would display items that range from school bags, lunch bags, laptop backpack, wallets and purse.

He added that they will be given great discount to potential buyers and that these items could be credited to interested persons for them to payback within three months.

The fair starts at 9am and ends at 6pm.
Sponsors of the fair include Moneygram, Starkist Tuna, Natural Royal Alata Samina and Wilhelm W.S Ltd.  Media partners are Hitz FM, Myjoyonline.com and Adom FM.
