Kofi Portuphy awarded Honourary Doctorate degree


Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization boss, Kofi Portuphy has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree by the Day Spring Christian University of Mississipi, USA.

He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanity for his contribution to human rights awareness at the well-attended ceremony held at the Graduate School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences of the University of Ghana in Accra Saturday, August 30.

Mr. Portuphy was among 12 awardees who were recognized for their exemplary roles in Ghana’s development in their various fields of endeavor.

Ghana’s Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Sherry Ayittey; Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, Kofi Asamoah; Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour, Abraham Koomson were among the awardees.

Among other reasons why the American University is honouring “uncle Pee” are his unflinching support for humanity, his investment in the kingdom of God, a visionary leader and an exemplary public figure.
