Kofi Boakye Charges On Bad Cops

DCOP Kofi Boakye
Any policeman that would be caught indulging in criminal activity would be processed for court to face justice, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has warned.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Commander, described the Police Service as a respectable institution with noble men and women, and so the command would not sit aloof for some few bad nuts to tarnish the image of police.

He mentioned indulgence in enlistment frauds to get richer, policemen using weapons for unauthorized operations, as some of the offences that could send perpetrators to court.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander was addressing men and women of the Service during a meeting in Kumasi last Friday. It was

meant to address police behaviour in the region.
According to him, he was privy to information that some few policemen had been indulging in criminal activities, cautioning that any policeman that would be caught trespassing his boundaries would be dealt with.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander stressed the need for policemen to be disciplined wherever they might find themselves so as to boost the confidence and respect that the public have in the police.

DCOP Kofi Boakye, whose ability to combat crime had earned him a nickname, ‘Commander One,’ observed that lance corporals, corporals and constables are mostly the group that have been tarnishing police image lately in the region.

He admonished the policemen in the region to work according to the ethics of the Police Service to avert having an issue with the law, stressing that any policeman that would indulge in criminal activity would go to court.

DCOP Kofi Boakye expressed delight over the sharp decline in criminal activities in the region with the last few months, noting that the

hard work of the police in the region had ensured that.

He cautioned the police in the region against becoming complacent, stressing that the police needed to do more and be alert always so as to prevent hoodlums from taking them unaware.
