Two Perish At Akotsi

Two people including a military officer at Takoradi on Monday met their untimely death at Akotsi in the Central Region when a Hyundai Santa Fe with registration number GN4436-10 collided with a Renault car with registration number GM6703-13 at Akotsi.

The two were Frank Rockson, a 40-year-old military officer at Takoradi, and Francis Kweku Baidoo, a 51-year-old businessman.

The bodies have been deposited at the Winneba Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE on Wednesday, an eyewitness, Kofi Ackon, said the incident happened around 11: 00pm on Monday.

Kofi Ackon stated that Rockson was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe from Accra heading towards Cape Coast, while Baidoo was driving a Renault car from Winneba heading towards Accra.

He added that Rockson on reaching Akotsi and Awutu Breku over took a car ahead of him, veering off in the process and finally colliding with the Renault car, resulting in the death of the two on the spot.

He hinted that it took more than an hour for the fire service personnel and the Awutu Breku Police to remove the body of the military officer from his car since the car was totally mangled.
