Kofi Adams Chases Yaw Boateng Gyan

Kofi Adams(L) and Yaw Boateng Gyan(R)
DAILY GUIDE has gathered that more names have popped up in the race for positions in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

One of such people is Kofi Adams, the National Deputy General Secretary and aid to former President Jerry John Rawlings, who according to sources, is preparing to contest with incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan for the National Organizer position.

Korku Anyidoho, who seems to have been sidelined in the current NDC administration after the death of former President Atta Mills, is also lacing his boots to contest vie for the Deputy General Secretary position.

Ludwig Akpene Hlordze and James Kofi Fonu Kpatakpa would seek re-election as the National Youth Organizer and Deputy respectively.

According to sources, the activities of Dr. Kwabena Agyei, former Ghana Ambassador to Malaysia, Dan Abodakpui and National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kofi Portorphy, who are vying for the national chairmanship position, are brewing tension in the party.

A source close to the party said Kofi Adams was in support of Kofi Portorphy while Korku Anyidoho backs Dan Abodakpui for the chairmanship position.

Korku Anyidoho is also supporting the incumbent General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, the source noted.

Interestingly, General Mosquito, who is tipped to retain his position, is a close ally of Yaw Boateng Gyan and Kwabena Agyei.

According to sources, Korku Anyidoho is expected to support Kofi Adams for the National Organizer position.

Delegates in the Volta Region are divided over who to elect in the race for the chairmanship position.

It is clear that Kofi Adams and Korku Anyidoho have the blessing of most of the party’s faithful and delegates, who would cast their ballot after the regional primary, which is tentatively slated for September.
