Journalist Loses Ring To 6 Robbers

Close sources to the injured journalist said the merciless hoodlums who looked thirsty for blood, purportedly shot the journalist in both thighs after which they took away his wedding ring and his wallet which contained an undisclosed amount of foreign currency.

Kwadwo Marfo, who is the son of the Ashanti Regional Security Liaison Officer, Bimpong Marfo, bled profusely at the crime scene until he was eventually rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The dastardly incident took place in the house of Kwadwo Marfo’s friend by name Maxwell Ibn, CEO of Mediterranean Projects, who services mining equipment at Nkoranza on the main Kumasi/Obuasi highway, around 3:30 pm.

2 Others Shot
The robbers, who wore masks and numbering six, also shot two other people including a labourer in the house and one person who was passing in front of the besieged house and spotted what was going on there.

Kwadwo Marfo and the two other people, luckily, survived the dangerous attack and they are all receiving treatment at the Accident and Emergency Centre at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

The robbers, according to our sources, allegedly shot into Maxwell’s vehicle which had just entered the house.

The robbers then proceeded to attack the other people in the house and Maxwell took advantage of the situation to scale the fence wall, slightly injuring his leg in the process.

Kwadwo Marfo and the other people in the house, upon hearing the gunshots, reportedly took to their heels and locked themselves up in an available room to avert being shot at.

Trauma
Meanwhile, Mr. Bimpong Marfo had admitted that he was traumatized by the shooting incident.

Speaking on Angel FM, he said his son and the two others were responding positively to treatment and so the public should not panic.
