One of Ghana’s most famous contemporary highlife artistes, Ofori Amponsah, has declared that he has no problem at all when radio DJs and presenters play his old songs on air.

Ofori Amponsah, now a born-again, and pastoring the Holy Ground Sanctuary, made the comments after former hip-life star, Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya, popularly known as Lord Kenya, cautioned radio presenters and DJs across the country against playing his hip-life songs which he described as ‘ungodly’.

The former highlife musician claimed that though he had the calling from God, he did not go through any formal training to learn ministerial work.

According to him, he was groomed by the Holy Spirit and also learnt a lot from a number of men of God.

The musician-turned-evangelist has also disclosed that God would use him and Lord Kenya to change the lives of many Ghanaians, adding, ‘I will release gospel songs on the music market very soon and the songs are geared towards spreading the good news.’

Ofori Amponsah has been in the music industry for 11 years and has collaborated with great musicians like Kofi Nti, Barosky and K. K. Fosu to boost his musical career during his hay days.

Barely two months ago, Lord Kenya warned radio DJs to stop playing his old hiplife songs and rather focus on playing songs from his new gospel album titled ‘Christ Life’ which was released in 2011.
