Ghanaian gospel singer, Herty Borngreat, crossed a million “likes” on social media site, facebook.com this week, becoming the first Ghanaian musician to hit the mark.
Her page, ‘Herty Borngreat Music’, was created at the latter part of 2012, and is mostly filled with photos of the musician, updates on her concerts, daily Christian messages, words of encouragement and inspirational quotes which attract thousands of likes and comments on a daily basis.
Social media has become an effective marketing tool accepted globally. A recent survey by Media School Group revealed that 77% of European marketing students say facebook is the most important social media tool a brand can use to communicate to this generation.
Herty Borngreat’s recent feat ranks her among the likes of President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigerian, Nigerian actress Omotola and Pastor E.A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, as well as Ghanaian actor John Dumelo, who also earned a million likes on his facebook page in 2014, six years after it was created.
“The thanks go to God, my fans all over the world who are now part of my family and my team. We hope to continue to use social media as a platform for spreading the word of God, inspiring the weary, mending broken hearts and ministering to God’s people. We pray we hit even bigger numbers in the near future and I believe that together we can”, Herty Borngreat noted.
Borngreat is a multiple award winner in the Ghanaian gospel music sector, a motivational speaker and professional accountant. She is married and has six children.
